launches and works fine with or without x11

You did configure it to use SDL (iirc it defaults to native OpenGL)?
(There's certainly no SDL warning in that output)
https://community.openfl.org/t/could-no … vice/10503
The bug is old but sounds lime uses a built-in version of SDL (so the message isn't coming from any system SDL), explaining pretty much why it would not work on wayland and also cannot be controlled w/ the environment variable.
And I suspect we can forget about preloading libraries for windows binaries ![]()
When you run Xwayland you'll hopefully get a rootfull xwayland server (nested X11 server) - you could try to run the helloworld example in that.

so what can i do?

Kinda like running Xephyr on X11.
If that doesn't convince it you can file a bug against lime because it doesn't work on wayland.

is it an issue on hyprland's end or not? since a friend of mine got it working on plasma

Plasma on X11 or plasma on wayland?
Using a native wayland window or xwayland?
And do they have an nvidia GPU (only, hybrid but plasma running on intel doesn't count)?

Hi, I'm the other user!
Plasma on X11 or plasma on wayland?
Plasma session is wayland.
Using a native wayland window or xwayland?
Both run fine for me, this is what I'm running:
# run via xwayland (default)
wine Export/windows/bin/HelloWorld.exe
# run via wayland
DISPLAY= wine Export/windows/bin/HelloWorld.exe But it seems for MTu08, the default is wayland instead of xwayland.
And do they have an nvidia GPU (only, hybrid but plasma running on intel doesn't count)?
No nvidia gpu, just intel igpu.

Since a windows build of SDL is running via wine, is it even expected to know what SDL_VIDEODRIVER=x11 should mean? Wouldn't it expect a windows driver?

Yes, the comment predates my realization that
The bug is old but sounds lime uses a built-in version of SDL
The criitcal difference will likely be
No nvidia gpu, just intel igpu.

My best guess right now is to try a rootfull xwayland server (as apparently things work on X11, but actual X11 oc. also loads the nvidia DDX which afaict is not going to happen w/ xwayland)
Offline
excuse me for the question but what now?
Offline
* Test the nested rootfull xwayland server
* File a bug against lime
* Use X11
* Try to "export SDL_RENDER_DRIVER=software; wine HelloWorld.exe"
