[SOLVED] News RSS feed inaccessible until I visit website from browser

Hello! My RSS reader of choice (RSS Guard) can't reach the Arch Linux RSS feed until I visit the Arch Linux news feed URL with my browser. Then it works fine until a few minutes later, then I need to visit the URL with my browser again. Is this some sort of bot protection I'm running into? Seems likely considering the website just went down from an attack a few days ago.

P.S.: This is in the Forum & Wiki category because I couldn't find a category meant for discussion of the main website.
