I have a Lenovo Yoga 500 and I wanted to install arch on it for my brother. To have a quick installation I tried with archinstall, unfortunately I get an error regarding the time synchronization with timedatectl stating
Time synchronization not completing, while you wait - check the docs for workarounds ... . I checked the website (https://archinstall.archlinux.page/help … -sync-2144) and tried to follow the instructions for this specific problem but I had no luck, so I went with the manual installation, but when I run pacstrap to install the base system on the disk, it cannot validate the files, even if I repopulate the keyring, so I'm basically stuck. Any solution?

What errors are you getting from pacstrap, exactly? What ISO are you using?

I'm using the last ISO downloaded yesterday. In pacstrap it downloads all the packages but when it should install it, it just gives me
error: keyring is not writableor
error: required key missing from keyringEven if I go with regenerating the pacman keys with
pacman-key --init it just won't work

Need full, exact errors, including some lines before the ones mentioned.

Unless you're going to be supporting/maintaining it for him, this is not a good idea. You would be better off installing a distro that doesn't require intimate familiarity to maintain, otherwise you're setting him up to fail.

Do you have internet connection at all?
The the keys might fail if the clock is vastly out of sync (you could set it manually, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/System … stem_clock )

Today I tried to reinstall the system for the 5th time and it just worked, thank you for the help.

He is the one who wanted to learn how to use linux the hard way just like I did, when I started I had some background thanks to an exam for my university, because he hadn't any experience with the terminal I just helped him with the installation and I faced this error I never had before.

Yes, I had connection, the pkgs downloaded with pacstrap downloaded with no problem, then it just won't install them. I also tried to set up time sync manually but I had no success I didn't understand why, but now it worked so thank you guys!
