problem installation

Hi, I'm trying to install ArchLinux on an older PC with an SSD and a Live USB. I burned the ISO file using the dd command. I can't proceed past the installation selection screen because it gives an edd error and the monitor goes into standby. Can anyone help?

Re: problem installation

because it gives an edd error

Please don't paraphrase, https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=57855 - what error?
Or does it just say "Probing EDD (edd=off to disable) ...." and then doesn't progress?
Did you try to add "edd=off" to the kernel parameters?

past the installation selection screen

What exactly does that refer to? The bootloader or something in the archinstall script?
The latter will currently stumble over the mirror configuration, https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=311274
